Heavy Metal Therapy: A Playlist for Tough Times

Chapter 1: A Soundtrack for the Struggles
Me: "This is my anthem for those tough days." starts playing "Sad But True" by Metallica, thrashing to the electrifying riffs of the iconic James Hetfield My son: grinning like the Cheshire Cat!
We all experience those days, don’t we? The ones where every task feels unbearable, and the thought of engaging with anyone is overwhelming. Whether it's dealing with school, work, errands, or even something as simple as brushing your teeth, some days can feel like an uphill battle. When you're drained, anxious, or just lost in the chaos of life, you crave an escape from the relentless pressure of the unknown future.
Lately, I've found myself having my fair share of these "Forget The World" (FTW) days. Today, my son was also feeling the weight of his own FTW morning. So, like I often do when uncertainty strikes, I turned to music. Heavy Metal—with a touch of Hard Rock—felt just right today. Judging by the way my son's frown transformed into a smile, I believe my instinct was spot on. Below, I share the reasons behind my choice of song for him this morning, along with my favorite Heavy Metal playlist that helps us navigate through those tough times:
- It brings joy and a rhythm that keeps you moving.
- It encourages you to embrace all your emotions.
